As a growing town, the population of Chatom reached the point of needing sidewalks to meet an increasing pedestrian traffic demand. Constantine Engineering was contracted to assist the Town of Chatom in designing and building these sidewalks. Constantine assisted with preliminary engineering services to acquire an ALDOT TAP grant to help fund 80% of the 2016 Sidewalk Improvements Project.
Following this, Constantine designed 6,000 feet of concrete sidewalk and two pedestrian timber boardwalks. After completing the design phase, Constantine provided construction engineering and ACI inspection services for material testing during construction. Town of Chatom now has ADA accessible pedestrian access connecting residential areas to the downtown corridor.
