Augusta Utilities Department hired Constantine Engineering to design, permit and oversee construction of the Highway 56 Water Main Extension.
The project features 4,100-linear foot of 24-inch diameter ductile iron pipe installed along a heavily congested 5-lane section of Highway 56 in an industrial/commercial area of South Augusta.
Constantine coordinated the pipeline alignment with the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) and several natural gas utilities within the project area.
Constantine also acquired the stormwater permit from the City of Augusta Engineering Department for this project. The project was placed on hold for two years and was later increased from 20" to 24".
The project was completed and service was accepted on schedule and within budget.
