Okaloosa County Water and Sewer(FL) Garniers Repump Station Controls Upgrades

Project Highlights

  • Design, material procurement and construction of the new control back panel, including all control hardware and circuitry
  • New redundant controller configuration with a single Human Machine Interface (HMI)
  • No service interruption

The Garniers Repump site is a critical wastewater relaying station that receives flow from several sites throughout Okaloosa County as well as flows from the City of Fort Walton. There is no emergency holding capacity and the existing control and SCADA system equipment had become outdated, unreliable, and difficult to maintain.

To facilitate reliable operation of the site controls and SCADA system while maintaining seamless operation, Constantine developed design upgrades to replace the original control equipment with the client's current standard (Allen Bradley). Our services included design, material procurement and construction of the new control back panel, including all control hardware and circuitry. The design included a new redundant controller configuration with a single HMI designed to provide continuous uninterrupted operation and reliability. In an effort to eliminate the need for additional wall space, junction boxes, conduits and interconnecting wiring, Constantine installed the new control hardware and circuitry on a separate swing out panel within the existing control cabinet.

In total, the transition required less than one day to complete, the site was never inoperable, and the new system occupied no additional space.
