Fort Walton Beach, Florida (CONSTANTINE) March 26, 2015 - Constantine Engineering will partner with Jacobs Engineering Group to provide design and construction management services associated with the Gwinnett County Department of Water Resources Lake Lanier Raw Water Intake. The intake was originally placed into service in 1971 and provides up to 225 million gallons per day (MGD) of raw water for the Lanier Filter Plant and the Shoal Creek Filter Plant in Gwinnett County.
The existing intake facility includes 3 separate 72-inch pipes at multiple elevations. The project will include the evaluation of new pipe materials, size, and installation methods. The design will also include computational fluid dynamics analysis for the intake structure and raw water pumps.
